Lookout Launches New Security Offering To Deliver Mobile Security to SMBs in Germany
San Francisco, California – August 24, 2021 – Lookout, Inc. today announced the launch of a new mobile security offering of Lookout for Small Business in partnership with Vodafone Germany. This new offering is available immediately to Vodafone customers through the Vodafone Germany Marketplace. The solution will protect small and medium business (SMB) workforces against the growing mobile application, network, device and phishing threats.
Mobile attacks in Germany have increased with more than 20 percent of mobile users receiving or clicking a phishing link in 2020. For small and medium organizations, the breach of a single mobile device can have an outsized impact on the business, especially from a financial perspective.
Organizations of all sizes rely on mobile devices and applications to store and access sensitive data, but most small businesses have adopted a bring your own device (BYOD) approach, permitting employees to use personal devices to perform their work using applications like Office 365, Slack and Salesforce. These BYO devices typically have no endpoint security and are used outside of the traditional security perimeter. As a result, they have become a target for cybercriminals. '
Lookout for Small Business enables SMBs to stay ahead of these threats and reduce mobile-based risks. It provides an intuitive cloud-based admin interface to easily enroll employees’ devices and gain real-time visibility into any mobile risks faced by employees
Lookout for Small Business also preserves personal privacy. It protects without prying by using artificial intelligence to identify the behavior of the threats rather than inspecting the apps and data on the employees device. This innovation has enabled broad adoption of Lookout by some of the largest organizations in Germany.
When Lookout detects a threat on a smartphone, tablet or ChromeBook, the lightweight Lookout app on the device guides the user through simple incident remediation to return them to eliminate the threat without requiring action from an IT support team.
Lookout for Small Business identifies mobile threats targeting these primary attack vectors:
- Phishing attacks in any app.- Malicious web content and files.
- App-based threats including malware, rootkits and spyware.
- Network-based threats including man-in-the-middle attacks.
- Device-based threats including Jailbroken or rooted devices, outdated operating systems and risky device configurations.
Lookout secures iOS, Android and ChromeOS devices, and can be deployed in three easy steps. Customers will have access to an easy-to-understand dashboard that provides visibility into the health of employees smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks.
Lookout for Small Business secures corporate data by leveraging the Lookout Security Graph that uses machine intelligence to analyze nearly 200 million devices, more than 145 million apps and hundreds of millions of websites. The Lookout Security Graph enables protection against threats even if they have never been seen before.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the German economy so ensuring they remain productive while being protected is a big priority,” said Gert-Jan Schenk, Chief Revenue Officer, Lookout. “We’ve seen great success with the deployment of Lookout services with Vodafone UK and Italy and we look to replicate this in Germany – both now and in the years to come.”
The Lookout for Small Business product is now available through the Vodafone Germany Marketplace.
Additional Lookout endpoint security products and services more suited to larger enterprises will also be made available by Vodafone Germany later in the year during the second phase of this launch.
